Meet The Deco Team – Joel Stravers

Meet Joel Stravers!

Joel is the Maintenance and Facilities manager here at Deco! He was born in Des Moines, IA and graduated from Southeast Pol High School. He is a recent addition to the DECO team, joining us about 18 months ago, and we are glad to have him!

• Why did you join DECO?
  • “I saw the opportunity to use my talents to help the company and the maintenance team grow.”
• What do you enjoy most about what you do?
  • “I get the opportunity to work with fantastic people and solving some difficult problems in a collaborative way.”
• Who has been the most helpful in your beginning at DECO? How have they been helpful?
  • “Barb Breza and Randy Tangen come to mind first. Randy brings years of experience and expertise from his 40+ years at DECO, which has been invaluable as I settle into this role, and Barb has provided so many opportunities to meet the team here and I have never had a bad interaction with her.”
• What do you think are the most exciting developments at DECO?
  • “Well obviously I think our automation(robots) are pretty exciting, but also getting to build a maintenance team and a culture of collaboration and growth within the team. Also, the continued opportunity to solve new and challenging problems that keep us on our toes.”
• What is a fun fact about you?
  • “I’m a pretty boring guy, so I guess a fun fact about myself is that I have a dog named Jeff.”
