Located in Decorah, Iowa is the beautiful Dunning’s Springs Park home to one of Iowa’s 13 waterfalls. This beautiful waterfall is spring fed and stands approximately 200 feet.
Deco Products is proud to have contributed to the hand laid stone arch bridge. The bridge sits at the base of the waterfall like the one that stood in its place 140 years prior.
The master stone mason, Ted Wilson of Decorah, designed the bridge to utilize dry stonewalling technique that features no mortar between the joints. This design is historically reflective of the original bridge that crossed the base of the spring. Donations from Deco Products and the Chris and Rhonda Storlie family and Decorah Parks and Recreation funding paid for the new bridge.
When asked about the donation to the bridge, and the bridge’s significance for Decorah, Chris Storlie, Deco CEO, said, “Decorah has a fantastic parks and recreation system which benefits mostly everyone in the community as well as visitors.” Deco and the Storlie family were excited to sponsor the stone bridge for everyone to enjoy.
Open year-round Trout Run Trail is an 11-mile trail that loops around and through Decorah. Known for its beautiful scenery and challenging switchbacks.
A well-known landmark along Trout Run Trail, is the Trout Run Trail bridge. This bridge was built with donations from Deco Products in 2007. To help enrich the community and support Decorah Parks and Recreation.
When you are out enjoying the Trout Run Trail, be sure to cross the Trout Run Trail bridge by the Trout Run River Access.
Deco Products is proud and honored to support the building of this bridge. Access a map of the trail here.
When you are out and about in Decorah a beautiful place to take a break is Water Street Park. This urban park features sculptures, tables, and the Decorah gazebo. This park is next to the Oneota Community Food Co-op with a view of the bluffs and downtown.
In 2011, Deco Products funded the construction of the gazebo. This is another example of how Deco Products gives back to the local community as much as they can.
Deco Products is thankful to the Decorah community and shows this gratitude by giving back to allow for the building of various landmarks throughout the town.
Deco Products has been a proud sponsor since 2011, for HNI’s City of Hope annual golf fundraiser. Since 2002, HNI, with members and suppliers, raised over $9 Million for City of Hope. This annual event helps ensure the mission of City of Hope to lead the fight against cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, and other life-threatening diseases.
