Zinc Die Cast Cars

Zinc die cast cars and toys have been a collectable tradition since the early to mid 20th century. All sorts of toys are made using the die casting process, such as cars, trucks, planes, construction equipment, and trains. Like any zinc die cast part, toys are also created with the process of injection molding. Zinc toys made with poor alloy selection can cause internal pitting and deterioration. (Pictured Below) Eventually the pitting and deterioration results in cracking or crumbling of the part. Zinc alloy selection has come a long ways since die cast toys were first created. These advancements are due to precision in the chemistry when combining exact and well blended levels of aluminum to zinc. High quality alloys are now standard in the die cast industry. Specifically, Zamak is the alloy that paved the way for high quality zinc die casting. Since then, other alloys such as zinc-aluminum (ZA) have added diversity to part creation. Certain alloys have properties that allow for thinner walls or improved hardness. Just like production of die cast toys, Deco Products only uses high quality zinc alloys in production of our die cast parts. Although Deco Products current high precision zinc parts do not include die cast toys, it is important to recognize die cast toys as an industry tradition. Zinc die casting has a strong history, and will continue to have a strong future in the manufacturing of parts. Deco Products has been a reliable “Made in USA” zinc die casting manufacturer since 1960. Deco Products provides exceptional service and quality products for a multitude of industries.
